Paytently has announced the launch of “Paytently Open Banking” in partnership with Mastercard, introducing an account-to-account (A2A) payment solution for UK e-commerce customers. Powered by Mastercard Open Finance, the service allows consumers to pay merchants directly from their bank accounts at checkout, providing instant payment confirmation and faster settlement. The solution aims to improve cash flow and enhance reconciliation processes for merchants, while also enabling higher conversion rates through its frictionless ‘Pay by Bank’ functionality.
The Paytently Open Banking platform leverages secure bank authentication and automated payment initiation, delivering a streamlined end-to-end payment experience. This orchestration engine enables operational efficiency by integrating payment confirmation and settlement within a single flow. According to Mastercard, more than three-quarters of consumers in leading markets have adopted open banking solutions, reflecting a rising demand for fast and transparent transactions.

Samuel Barrett, Co-Founder and CEO of Paytently, stated, “This collaboration with Mastercard marks a significant step forward in our mission to deliver robust, scalable payment solutions for sectors that demand more from their payments partner.” Valerie Nowak, EVP and Head of Open Finance APEMEA at Mastercard, added, “Our collaboration with Paytently brings the benefits of open banking payments to more merchants who value speed, transparency, and flexibility in their transactions.”
Paytently and Mastercard plan to present this new solution at the SBC Summit in Lisbon, scheduled for 16–18 September 2025.
